Đề tài chọn:  Tục ngữ có câu: "Ăn quả nhớ kẻ trồng cây".  Em hãy giải thích và cho biết Tổ Chức Gia Đình Phật Tử đã áp dụng câu tục ngữ trên như thế nào trong sinh hoạt.

"Ăn quả nhớ kẻ trồng cây".  The culture of the Vietnamese people is one of humility, community and gratitude.  The proverb of the fruit and tree and obligation to return to the one who had planted it, carries a universal them to be applied, maintained, and sustained in our lives.  to be or not to be, to exist or not exist--our lives are intertwined and connected.  My participation within the Vietnamese Buddhist Yourth Association is an example of this.  The Chánh Hòa division is unique, for our community is comprised of individuals from Hayward, Berkeley, Oakland, Livermore, Pleasanton, Alameda, ....  The list goes on.  There is no other gathering of individuals as unique as this, and I thank the Buddhist Youth Association for it.  I have brought my own share, my own contribution to this amazing organization that I have been a part of for ten years.  The decade I have spent here is priceless.  As I depart for college this year, I cannot help but admire my successors.

I am aware of this debt I owe.  This family has bestowed upon the 'fruits' of learning, qualities of leadership, endurance, and compassion that has defined and become a part of me.  I, in turn, have brought the gift of music to GĐPT Chánh Hòa, teaching the beauty of vocal music in Vietnamese songs to the intricate passion necessary to master the Western and Vietnamese instruments of string.  I wish only to contribute and give back to the comfortable, tranquil atmosphere in which I meditate.  Yet, it is not enough.

GĐPT is both an interlocking web and a transcendental cycle of compassion.  Few truly understand that by planting the tree of life with hard work, with Kung fu, công phu, the tree will provide shade and bear fruit, rewards in the future.  In turn, we thank the planters.   Before I leave this organization for a temporary period of time, I have a mission.  I plan to educate future generations on this cycle of contribution--all of youth in this society need to know the importance of tradition and its foundation of the Vietnamese Buddhist culture.  To understand the past, to comprehend the future, and to live in the present is vital for success in the comtemporary world--all the while bathing in the shade of the tree.
